The Earl of Shelburne, at left, was introduced to Shelburne residents Judy Frazer, center, and Gail Emerson, at right, during his visit to Shelburne in 1963. At the introduction, Judy accidentally dropped one of her white gloves, and the Earl gallantly picked it up and returned it to her. Still teased about it today, Judy was accused of purposely dropping her white glove to impress the Earl.
