Vermont’s Poet Laureate speaks at CVU April 19

Champlain Valley Union (CVU) and the CVU Library are proud to announce a very special reading with Vermont’s own Poet Laureate, Sydney Lea, Thursday, April 19. The reading is free and open to the community and will begin promptly at 1:45 pm Community members are asked to check in at the main office upon arrival; the event will be held in the CVU Library.

Lea has taught at Vermont College, Middlebury College, Yale, Wesleyan, Franklin College in Switzerland, and the National Hungarian University in Budapest. He most recently taught at Dartmouth College before retiring last year. He has published nine collections of poetry, a novel, and innumerable essays. His work is deeply connected to Vermont, its people, and its sense of place.
