Hameline receives national recognition for helping Vets

Dawn Hameline

Dawn Hameline, an Occupational Therapist from Shelburne received the Bill Givens Award in recognition of her many years of dedicated volunteer service supporting the nation’s disabled Veterans. She received the award at the 26th Annual National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass Village, Colo. in late March.
The Bill Givens award recognizes a team leader that displays outstanding dedication, compassion, and leadership in the performance of their duties. Given in his honor, Bill Givens was a leader in the field of Recreation Therapy for many years.
Hameline lives in Shelburne with her husband, Joe, and their 16-year-old daughter Allie and 13-year-old son Justin. She grew up in So. Burlington and attended Indiana University to pursue Occupational Therapy.  Hameline is an Occupational Therapist at Fletcher Allen Health Care and annually volunteers at the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic and the National Veterans Wheel Chair Games as a Team Leader and Classifier.  Her professional area of expertise includes spinal cord injuries and head trauma.
