Shelburne author releases children’s book

June 3 A Fred SCLocal author Joe Oppenlander introduced his newly released children’s book “Fred, The Little Black Truck” at the Shelburne Farmers Market on Saturday. The 1929 Model A Ford pickup transports young readers on happy adventures chugging along Shelburne village roads, merrily honking “ahuga, ahuga” as he visits Shelburne Orchards, the Shelburne Shipyard, and joins in the local parades. The book was illustrated by Gil Myers, published by Red Barn Books of VT, and all proceeds from the sale of the book go to support CURE PSP, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness and  finding cures for progressive supranuclear palsy, corticobasal degeneration, and other atypical Parkinsonian disorders.
