Realtor Nancy Jenkins of Shelburne was honored last month with the distinction of being named the 2012 Realtor of the Year by the Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors(NVBR). The award recognizes Jenkins, owner of Prudential Realty Mart, for her achievements, community service, and professionalism.
Jenkins, who has been in the real estate industry since 1980, is on the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington and brings her support to many local groups, including Women Helping Battered Women, Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf, Go Red for Women, and the United Way of Chittenden County.
“I think Nancy does what she does for the Boys & Girls Club because she is a leader. She is very action oriented,” says Mary-Alice McKenzie, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Club of Burlington.
This year marks the first time that Jenkins was recognized by NVBR as Realtor of the Year. Her fellow agents acknowledged the well-deserved award for Jenkins, for her long, distinguished career in real estate and her passionate for the community service. Jenkins, who now holds CRB and CRS designations, is joined by her husband and business manager Bryan Jackson, daughters and buyers agent Alison Barges Derouchie and Amanda Gerlack, and son-in-law and IT specialist Jason Gerlack.
