Shelburne to host All-Star games

The Shelburne Indians, at left, and the Charlotte Reds stand for the National Anthem this season.

Shelburne Little League has been asked to host several initial “pool play” games and the double elimination tournament for the 9/10 All-Star Division I Championship.  The word is out…the Shelburne town fields are in tip-top condition and among some of the best in the league.  It’s been a lot of work by many Shelburne Little League Board members to get it there.  Both infields received load upon load of dirt and were meticulously edged by the ever-patient and dedicated, Arthur Prentice.

In fact, Shelburne will be a main stage for the Division I 9/10 All-Star Baseball Tournament hosting four games in a row starting Monday, June 25.  The team from Shelburneis scheduled to play June 25 and 27 at 6 pm. Plan to attend and root on the home team.

Shelburne’s Farm League players got a chance to showcase their skills on the Major League field this past Saturday morning, complete with PA announcements and score kept on the electric scoreboard. The little ones were all smiles upon arrival to the game to see the field lined better than an MLB infield.  Once again, Arthur Prentice was up early to prepare the field for the Indians and Reds.

Finally, support the hard work of the Shelburne Little League by joining our players at a Lake Monsters game.  Half of the ticket purchase price to the Saturday, June 30 game vs. Lowell Spinners (Red Sox affiliate) comes back to Shelburne Little League.
