SCS Board meeting tackles mixed bag

By Gail Callahan

As the 2014 fiscal year drew to a close the Shelburne Community School (SCS) Board decided against authorizing funds earmarked for legal expenses to clear hurdles on property the School District owns. In fact, the Board voted unanimously to reject approving up to $5,000 to clear up deed restrictions on a Longmeadow property.

School directors authorized the contracts for a full-time elementary school teacher, Monique Tetreault, and OK’d a contract for a .80 full-time music teacher position for Amy Southworth.

The Board also approved tax anticipation borrowing, OK’d bus financing, and accepted a revised professional development calendar suggested by administrators Allan Miller and Pati Beaumont.
