It’s summertime in Vermont. That means more daylight hours and therefore more night life as well. From the Shelburne Vineyards’ wine tasting to the summer concert series at Shelburne Farms, there’s plenty to see and do in the area before the days get shorter and colder.
“Sunsets” at the Shelburne Museum is not about the sunset per say; instead it is about evening programming. Established five years ago, the Museum has been providing lectures, activities, and family fun on specific Thursday evenings when all Museum buildings and exhibitions remain open until 7:30 pm. The specialty programming is from 5 to 7:30 pm and is included in the regular Museum admission.
The Sunset schedule is as follows:
July 19 / Music at the Museum with Dave Keller
Enjoy a soulful summer evening with award winning blues musician Dave Keller. Drinks will be available at a cash bar.
July 26 / ArtScape
Participants rarely find time for creative self-expression. Here’s an opportunity to rediscover that inner artist while experimenting with a variety of artistic media.
Aug. 2 / The future of Shelburne Museum
Museum director Tom Denenberg shares his thoughts on Shelburne Museum’s future. Registration is required. To register, please email education@shelburnemuseum.org. Space is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Aug. 9 / A mechanical affair
Participants will be transported into the culture of steampunk during an evening of fantasy.
