The American Cancer Society Bark For LifeTM is a noncompetitive walk event honoring the care giving qualities of our canine friends while raising funds and awareness for the fight against cancer. The annual four-legged and family-friendly event will be held on Aug.17, 6-8 pm, at Technology Park, 30 Community Drive, in South Burlington. Register you and your canine companion today at relayforlife.org/barkchittenden.
By supporting Bark For Life, you help the American Cancer Society save lives. Funds support research and free patient programs and services that help people stay well and get well.
“Four-legged friends are often a source of great comfort to a cancer patient in their time of need,” said Event Manager Amy Deavitt, a breast cancer survivor. “Bark For Life is a unique opportunity for our community to come together with their care-giving canine companions to fight back against a disease which takes too much from too many.”
Bring your best canine companion and join this fun-filled day starting with a 1.5 mile scenic walk and continuing with demonstrations, contests, and games. Registration is $10 per person, $25 the day of the event, and includes a Bark For Life bandana. Raise at least $100 using online tools at the event website to get your event T-shirt.
“Everyone is welcome to team up and fight cancer at Bark For Life,” Deavitt said. “Dog owners and dog lovers will enjoy the walk and festivities while helping to move us closer to creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays.” Register today for Bark For Life at relayforlife.org/barkchittenden.
