Keegan Bradley hosts Vermont Disaster Relief fundraiser Aug. 27

Vermont native Keegan Bradley, the 2011 PGA Championship winner and PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, returns to his roots for a tournament to benefit the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund on Aug. 27. The event is being staged at The Woodstock Inn & Resort, the course where Bradley first played golf as a child.

“Our event comes 364 days after the floods,” said Bradley. “It’s a good time to celebrate the progress made in the area and help to finally overcome the setbacks so many of our friends and businesses have suffered.”

The day begins with a brunch for the event participants in addition to a golf clinic with Bradley. A reception follows play for 26 foursomes on the scenic Woodstock course. Fans interested in attending or contributing may check the event website: www.keeganbradley.com/charity.php.

“We are proud to team up with Keegan in continuing support of the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund, which has mounted a championship effort in helping local communities across the state recover from last year’s devastating floods,” said Robert L. Reynolds, President and CEO, Putnam Investments.

The Vermont Disaster Relief Fund was established after Tropical Storm Irene and works tirelessly to help families cope with their losses and get back on their feet.  “The Vermont Disaster Relief Fund is grateful for the generosity of Vermonters like Keegan who continue to make a difference for so many,” Executive Director Betsy Ide said. “We call on all Vermonters and Vermonters in spirit to use Keegan’s example of generosity to stay strong in their commitment of helping until everyone who suffered loss from these events has been given the resources they need to move forward.”

“Vermont in general and Woodstock in particular mean a very great deal to me and my family,” said Bradley. “I’m thrilled to have the support of our partners and am looking forward to a fun outing for the participants and a rewarding day for flood victims.  Neighbors help neighbors in Vermont, and that’s what we’re doing with this event.”
