Last Chance to Register for Fall Soccer! The final date to register for Fall Soccer is Aug. 24. No registrations will be taken after that date. This very popular recreational soccer program is open to kids entering grades 1-8 beginning this fall and will run from Aug. 27 to Oct. 13. Registration fee is $26 per child plus a $25 late fee (until Aug. 17 when it increases to $50). Uniforms and shin guards are required. Please order a uniform shirt when registering if your child does not already have one. Uniform shirt fee is $22. This program is run by volunteers. Please fill out the volunteer section on the registration form. The Rec. Dept. will provide training for coaches and referees.
The Summer Concert Comes to an End! The Rhythm Rockets delivered an incredible performance to an enthusiastic crowd of hundreds who danced the night away decorated with glow necklaces! A great show of fireworks brought the Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer Concert Series to a close on Wed. Aug. 8 at Shelburne Farms. We want to thank all those who attended and generously donated to this event. A special thank you goes out to all the volunteers and our very generous sponsors who make this concert series possible. The sponsor of the concert series is Almartin Volvo. The sponsors supporting the fireworks presentation are Associates in Orthodontics, Automaster, Precourt Investment Co, Rice Lumber, Shelburne Supermarket, and of course, Shelburne Farms.
“Off the Couch” Multi Sport Training Camp: Calling all middle school athletes entering grades 6-8! Swim, bike, run, crunch, jump and bound your way to optimal pre-season fitness. Triathlon based program designed to target endurance, strength and agility to jump-start your fall sport season. This camp will run Aug. 20-24 from 12-4 pm for $100 at the Shelburne Town Beach with instructor, Maria Cimonetti. Pre-registration is required.
Kindergarten Soccer Registration is open: A fun, instructional soccer program for kindergarteners! The program curriculum includes fun ball mastery activities, interactive fundamental technical training between players and exciting small-sided fun and interactive environment. It will run on Sundays, Sept. 9-30 at the Shelburne Community School Fields from 12-1 pm. The cost is $20 which includes a t-shirt and team picture. Join Stan Williams, CVU girls soccer coach, and some of the CVU boys and girls soccer players for a fun introduction to soccer! The registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 7 at 3 pm.
Fall Golf Clinic: Mike Bailey, Kwiniaska’s PGA pro, will instruct this quick review of all the basic strokes, clubs, and fundamentals.
This clinic is aimed at students who have taken previous golf instruction. The clinic date is Saturday, Sept. 8 from 2-4 pm for kids in grades 2-6. The fee is $30 and will be held at Kwiniaska Golf Club. An adult clinic will be held on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 2-4 pm for grade 7-adult. Pre-registration is required.
