Shelburne Craft School tagged as beneficiary
The Magic Hat Artifactory is getting tagged. They will be hosting the third annual Wall to Canvas event in the brewery parking lot Saturday, Aug. 25 from 12-6 pm. This urban arts competition is a benefit for the Shelburne Craft School and will feature 12 street-style artists competing live on brewery grounds. At the end of the competition, there will be a live art auction led by Jamie Polli featuring all 12 pieces with the proceeds going to the Shelburne Craft School.
For those who choose to witness artistic expression at its finest, there will be plenty of outdoor activities. An outdoor beer garden will be serving up pints of Magic Hat’s finest libations and oodles of food will be available, courtesy of a BBQ tent, The Skinny Pancake, and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. A special appearance by local balloon artisan Dux the Balloon Man will have you tied to the day’s action while The Linguistic Civilians and DJ A-Dog will fulfill your musical needs.
After the show, revelers are encouraged to convene at Nectar’s for the official Wall to Canvas after party, starting at 7 pm. The shindig begins as graffiti artists from the afternoon’s event create a collaborative piece on a wall in the alley next to Nectar’s. Then, it’s inside for some great local, live music and fresh beer on tap.
Wall to Canvas brings together the Shelburne Craft School, a town staple, with Magic Hat’s unique brand of creativity to offer an event that shows appreciation for local urban-style artwork, all to benefit the Art Center’s mission of providing the community a place to learn both contemporary and traditional craft arts.
