The Shelburne Board of School Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Patricia Beaumont as co-principal of the Shelburne Community School, to beginning July 1, 2012.
Beaumont was selected from a pool of 50 candidates. The search committee, comprised of two board members, two community members, four teachers, and three administrators, conducted first and second-round interviews, sent a team to conduct a site visit, and invited finalist candidates to visit Shelburne Community School (SCS).
Current co-principal Allegra Miller will retire at the end of the 2011-2012 school year.
Beaumont, currently principal of the Rutland Town K-8 School, has experience as a math teacher at the middle and high school levels and as a special educator. Her extensive background, personal attributes, and philosophy make her uniquely qualified to lead SCS in their continued focus on meeting the needs of all students and guaranteeing them an outstanding education.
