Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity welcomes families to learn about becoming a Habitat Homeowner during an information session on Sept. 24 from 6:30 to 8 pm at the Champlain Senior Center, 241 North Winooski Avenue, in Burlington. This meeting is open to the public. Habitat for Humanity especially encourages families who are currently living in substandard housing and cannot purchase a home through traditional mortgages to attend.
The information session will cover family eligibility guidelines, which include: need for affordable housing, household income between 30 and 60 percent of median income, and willingness to partner with Habitat to build their future home and pay a 0 percent interest mortgage. Families need not be residents of Chittenden County to be considered. Presentations will also include the Habitat homes for which families may apply: a pre-owned Habitat home in Burlington and a new duplex home to be built in Charlotte in 2013.
Families interested in applying to become homeowners must attend this meeting. For more information, please contact the Family Selection Committee at (802) 872-8726 or email@example.com.
