Lorraine Arlene Denning – Burlington

Lorraine Denning, 89, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at home on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012. She was born on Oct. 11, 1922, the daughter of the late Raymond and Aurore (Merchant) Valyeau. Lorraine attended St. Anthony’s School and Burlington Business College, while working at Vermont Maple Orchards. On May 9, 1942, she married John James “Jim” Denning. Lorraine was instrumental in starting Denning Construction with her husband in 1966, handling day-to-day office operations. A lifetime member of St. Anthony’s Parish, she was a prayerful woman. Among her survivors is her son, Robert “Bob” Denning of Shelburne. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Jim in 2008.
