Shelburne Town Clerk Colleen Haag expects long lines at the polls on Election Day Tuesday, Nov. 6. Haag is encouraging absentee/early ballots for those who may be out of town, may not want to wait in line, or whose schedule does not fit the 7 am to 7 pm voting day hours. Please call the office at 985-5116 and a ballot will be sent in the mail. Registered voters may also come into the office and vote early during the hours of 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday.
The last day to register to vote for the Nov. 6 election is Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 5 pm. If you have registered to vote through the motor vehicle department and have not received a confirmation form from the Town Clerk’s office, please call the office to see if re-registering is necessary. Eligible voters may come into the office, have the form mailed to you, or you can download the form from the shelburnevt.org website. The motor voter system does not work well and the Town Clerk’s office has found that many people thought they were registered and were not when they came to vote at previous elections. The phone number to call is 985-5116. Press 0 to avoid messages.
