Sarah Crow and Linda Norris met while they were working in Ukraine where Crow, a Fullbright scholar, was studying foraged food resources and Norris was studying food history by exploring museum collections. Their shared interests led them to found The Pickle Project which focuses on preserving food traditions and culture.
Shelburne Farms is a partner in The Pickle Project and will host an evening of shared dialog and exploration of personal memory, food production and sustainability with Norris and Crow on Thursday April 26 at 6 pm. The event is free; just bring a dish to share.
The Pickle Project documents, explores, and shares foodways in communities around the world as a way of understanding issues of sustainability, change and community. At the potluck, Crow and Norris will present highlights from the community conversations they have held in cities in Ukraine, and facilitate a conversation right here.
