Book Sale: The Library staff and the Board of Library Friends would like to thank you for supporting our annual book sale. A special thanks to all who volunteered to help. We hope you found some unexpected treasures. We know that all of you who visited the annual library book sale are enjoying your newly acquired reads. As always the sale was a huge success. Thanks also for taking a few minutes away from your new-to-you books to glance at this week’s news column as well. What better way to be in the know about the latest library events and offerings. Remember that we currently have a freeze on all book donations until November. Thanks again to everyone for their generosity throughout the year.
Thanks: We want to give a big thank you to the Marx family of Shelburne for delivering the new big bear to the Pierson Children’s room. The new bear is donated by the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. Stop in and give a snuggle to the new bear and enter a name in the bear naming contest. Thanks Vermont Teddy Bear!
Email reminder: If you give us your email address you will be able to manage your library account from home. We will be able to send you due date reminders and titles of books we have on hold for you. When you receive a due date reminder you can renew your materials before they are overdue. If you have not already given us your email information, ask at the front desk and we will give you a short form to fill out. Then we can add the information to your account. We promise not to share your email address with anyone!
Upcoming library programs:
Ghosts in Your Attic: Join us on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 7 pm at the Charlotte Senior Center to hear spooky stories guaranteed to send chills up and down your spine. In another program co-sponsored with the Charlotte Library, and the Charlotte 250th Committee, we are thrilled to present Vermont author Joe Citro, expert on New England Oddities (including ghosts) for an evening of ghost stories with a local flair. In addition to Citro, local storytellers have invited to share their ghoulish tales. Have your own mysterious account to share? All tales of a spooktacular nature are welcome!
