Two families left homeless
According to the Vermont State Police the Shelburne Fire Department responded to a house fire on Northern Heights Drive in Shelburne at approximately 1 pm Monday afternoon. Shortly after the departments arrival the fire spread throughout the second floor of the residence. The Shelburne Police Department, Shelburne Rescue squad, as well as eight other area fire departments responded to the scene. No one was home at the time of the fire so there were no injuries. Although much of the structure was saved, the house is considered a total loss due to fire and water damage. While the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation the fire is not considered to be suspicious. At right, Shelburne Asst.
