Field Hockey team loses
The CVU field hockey team lost 0-1 to Burlington on Thursday, Oct. 18. Evangeline Dunphy made five saves for the Redhawks.
Girls soccer secures two more wins
The CVU girls soccer team beat South Burlington 1-0 in a game on Wednesday, Oct. 17. Mackenzie Kingston’s goal propelled the Lady Redhawks to victory. Lily Harris had four saves in goal.
In a game vs. Burlington on Saturday, Oct. 20, CVU picked up a 3-1 win. Emily Kinneston, Audrey Allegretta, and Haliana Burhans each had a goal while Kingston racked up two assists. Harris and Maddie Turner combined for four saves in goal for CVU.
Boys soccer shuts out South Burlington
The Redhawks topped South Burlington 7-0 on Friday, Oct. 19. Two goals each by Shane Haley and Jeremy Richard and one apiece by Joe Castano, Tucker Shelley, and Max Brown ensured the win. Haley also tallied three assists while Noah Lieberman contributed two. Brandon O’Connell had six saves in goal for the Redhawks.
Redhawks suffer loss
In a game on Friday, Oct. 19, CVU had a tough time beating the mud while Middlebury relished it, beating the Redhawks 35-7. In the last play of the game, Bennett Cazayoux threw a touchdown pass to Davis Mikell for the score.
Girls XC team takes 1st at Metro championships
On Saturday, Oct. 20 at the NVAC Metro championships, the Lady Redhawks took first place as a team, led by Taylor Spillane in 1st place with a time of 18:32 and Autumn Eastman in 2nd in 18:34. Julienne Devita finished 4th for CVU in 19:29 and Abby Keim had a strong finish in 9th place in 20:43.
For the boys, CVU placed 3rd as a team, behind South Burlington and Essex. Nick Bouton was the first CVU finisher in 4th place with a time of 17:07, followed by Sean Delaney in 5th with a time of 17:19.
