Harken Spillane goes to Shelburne Community School and is currently in the eighth grade intern program at Shelburne News where he has been learning interviewing skills. He was born in Burlington at Fletcher Allen Hospital to Kevin and Stacey Spillane. He was raised in a house on the waterfront of Shelburne Bay with his two siblings Taylor Spillane, 17, and Burke Spillane, 15, and his dog Lilly. He has gone to Shelburne Community School (SCS) since he was in kindergarten and runs cross-country for the school. His favorite school subject is science.

Since Harken lives on the lake, he loves water sports such as wake skating, waterskiing, and wind surfing. “I love living by the lake because I get to do things like boating and watching the storms over the lake,” he said. Harken also loves to ski race at Cochrans in Richmond. If he could do one thing before he’s six feet under it would be to ski in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.
