The Chittenden South Education Association (CSEA) and the School Boards of CSSU are pleased to announce a new contract for 2013-2014 school year. The new contract will maintain current working conditions and benefits. Modest raises for teachers will be based on experience and level of education. Combined, these increases will total approximately 3 percent. As previously agreed, teachers will also increase their contribution to health insurance premiums to 15 percent.
In addition, the two parties agreed to create three committees charged with making recommendations in the next negotiation session. Those committees will explore issues relating to seniority, reduction in force language, and professional expectations including work day and work year issues. There will also be a team that investigates avenues that ensure a positive climate for future negotiations.
The CSEA and the Boards are pleased with the new contract and believe it is in the best interest of the students, teachers, and communities of the Chittenden South Supervisory Union.
