Each year, USA Swimming recognizes its members who excel in both the classroom and in the pool. The Scholastic All-American Team is made up of high school student-athletes who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and have achieved the required time standard in a single event.
Two student-athletes received the USA Swimming Scholastic All-American award in September. CVU senior Evan Grey was named to the list for the first time in his high school career, qualifying in the 400 individual medley. Michael Winget, a current freshman at Tufts University and member of the CVU Class of 2012, was named to the list for the second time in his high school career, qualifying in the 100 and 200 backstroke. Nationwide, the roster includes 1,266 swimmers (630 women and 596 men) including 33 swimmers from New England (19 women and 14 men). These athletes have been a vital part of the Green Mountain Aquatics (GMA) swim team for many years and have served as team captains.
