With special guest Sallie Mack
Alaska’s fiddling poet Ken Waldman will perform at the Senior Center on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 pm in Charlotte. A former college professor, Waldman has drawn on his 25 years in Alaska to produce poems, stories, and fiddle tunes that he combines into a unique performance.
Charlotte resident Sallie Mack met Waldman when they both lived in Alaska over 25 years ago and was instrumental in arranging this latest performance. “People are fascinated with Alaska,” Mack commented. “And Ken is such a great storyteller that anyone who attends will find it very interesting. After the performance dessert and coffee will be provided so it’s sure to be a warm and fuzzy evening,” Mack promised.
An accomplished musician in her own right, Mack has been tapped as Waldman’s special guest. “All that means is that I will back Ken up on guitar,” she commented. “But the great thing about this particular performance is that I teach a guitar class at UVM Access. And all my intermediate students will have the opportunity to back Ken up as well. It’s going to be a special show.”
Tickets for the Nov. 15 performance are $10 per person and available at the door the night of the show. For more information contact Sallie Mack at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 425-6212.
