Shelburne resident Jennifer Conetta, former Assistant Director of Annual Giving at Middlebury College, has been named Assistant Director of Annual Giving at Saint Michael’s College, her alma mater.
Conetta graduated from Saint Michael’s in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in French cum laude, and worked at Middlebury from October 2009 until November 2012. She started at Saint Michael’s on Dec. 3.
“I learned a lot in my job at Middlebury and wanted to use what I’ve learned at my alma mater,” she said. She was a phone- a-thon volunteer while a student at Saint Michael’s and “learned about development there as well,” she said.
Her position includes working with the senior class gift and even more, working with all current students to help them understand that they enjoy the generosity of alumni. She will also reinforce that they are the next generation who will support the college. She will focus on young alumni and on helping them understand why development officers do what they do and why it’s important.
“Giving back is empowering,” Conetta said. “It’s a vote of approval for what’s happening on campus.”
Conetta is the daughter of M’Liss and Dennis Conetta of Darien, Conn. She is an enthusiastic skier, runner, and traveler.
