Last Saturday’s game between Shelburne and The Green Mountain Boys (GMB) turned out to be a defensive battle. The game ended in a scoreless tie with the GMBs and Shelburne embroiled in an old school pitching duel. Shelburne threatened to score every inning but solid clutch pitching from Connor Philbrick, Becket Hill, and Ethan Oglesby prevented them from pushing a run across. Shut-down pitching from Teddy Sheehan and JB Bahrenburg had Shelburne holding the GMBs hitless. Jackson Neme had the only hit of the game, a solid line drive down the first base line, in the second inning for the Shelburne squad. While Shelburne resident Lars Jensen had the defensive play of the game with a diving catch to his right in the second inning. Each team will have its sixth and final game of the first session of Winter Baseball this Saturday at the Field House. Shelburne will face South Burlington while the GMBs will battle a tough Williston squad as they try to complete an undefeated season.
