Daniel LeClair and Shannon Newman were joined in marriage on June 9,2012 in a medieval-styled wedding at the Hidden Garden in Hinesburg by Justice of the Peace David Webster. The ceremony included a sword and flower ceremony in which the attendants pledged to support and defend the union. Attendants include matron of honor Catherine LaClair, sister-in-law of the groom, Heather Newman, sister of the bride, and Rachel Duke, daughter of the bride. The best man was Matt Bouchett, and groomsmen were Timothy LaClair, brother of the groom, and Patrick Clow. Silas Duke, son of the bride announced the couple, while the rings were presented by John Duke, son of the bride. A hand fasting cord was carried by Raven Duke, daughter of the bride. The entire bridal party was dressed in medieval attire.
The bride graduated from RHAM high school in Hebron, Conn. served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany, and graduated from Middlesex (Conn.) Community College with an associate’s degree in general studies. She is employed by Panera Bread. The groom graduated from CVU, attended Castleton State College, and graduated from Champlain College with an associate’s degree in secretarial studies. He is employed as a manufacturing operator at IBM. The couple resides in Ferrisburgh. Daniel is the son of Jeanne and Charles LaClair of Shelburne.
