Wind Ridge Publishing (WRP) will host several writers’ workshops this spring in their newly renovated village barn on Falls Road, “The Writers’ Barn.” For a complete list of upcoming workshops, visit www.windridgepublishing.com.
Friday, May 4
9 am to noon
Longtime writing trainer and Vermont author, Linda Bland, will conduct a morning workshop “Memorable Memoir Writing” at Wind Ridge Publishing’s newly opened “Writers’ Barn” on Falls Road. Bland’s workshop will demonstrate that memoir writing can be easy and fun whether writers aspire to high literary standards, or simply want to record their stories for family and friends. Participants will learn how memoir differs from autobiography and creative nonfiction, and appreciation for the genre will be gained through a suggested memoir reading list. Exercises will illuminate each writer’s strengths and areas with room for improvement. Bland invites you to share your memories in a safe, encouraging class.
Bland is an author and editor who has helped 20 other authors self-publish or sell their books to commercial publishers. Bland has delivered writing training to corporations for 18 years and taught writing at the college level for 21 years.
Cost for the morning workshop is $50 per person and registration is necessary; call Lin Stone at Wind Ridge Publishing, 985-3091, to sign up.
