The Big Chill, a fundraiser for epilepsy held on Sunday, April 15 at Bayside Park in Colchester, was a great success. Nearly 70 participants took a dip in the lake with water temperatures hovering around 40 degrees. Mike, a D.J. from Supersounds D.J. Company and Jamie from Kool 105 co-hosted the event and dedicated songs to each of the teams. The Mallets Bay Fire Department and Colchester Rescue sponsored the event and provided the safety expertise. The incredible chicken and pork barbecue was prepared by The Dutch Mill Family Restaurant and side salads were prepared by Let’s Pretend Catering. The menu items for the barbecue were donated by T-Bones Restaurant, The Shelburne Meat Market, Hannaford, and The Dutch Mill Family Restaurant. Over $6,000 was raised for programs and services provided by the Epilepsy Foundation of Vermont.
