Former resident receives Achievement Medal

U.S. Navy Commanding Officer S.R. Wilkinson presents Jason Billado with the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal in October.

Former Shelburne resident Jason Billado, age 25, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his outstanding maintenance efforts to prepare the USS Hartford, a submarine, for deployment. His selection for this award is indicative of his hard work and dedication to the Submarine Force, Hartford, and the Navy. His commanding officer, S.R. Wilkinson commented, “This is only one of many awards and accolades which Jason will be presented during his career in the Navy. His dedication to his job and country are indicative of his strong character. I am very proud to be his skipper and to call him ‘shipmate.’”

Jason is the son of Jani and David Billado.
