Christy Mitchell exhibit at Vintage Inspired Lifestyle Marketplace in February

Vintage Inspired Lifestyle Marketplace on Flynn Avenue in Burlington is pleased to announce an exhibition of mixed media work from Vermont artist Christy Mitchell entitled “Source and Alter,” Feb. 1-26. There will be an opening reception on First Friday, Feb. 1, from 5 to 8 pm. Exploring creative re-use as an art form; Mitchell utilizes discarded architectural drawings, children’s books, magazines, wire, and bathroom tiles in her ongoing series of work. Through repetition, from a series of 7 to 1,000, the pieces start to take on a visual language of their own. Vintage Inspired, a vibrant new marketplace for antique dealers, artists, and craftspeople, is located at 180 Flynn Avenue and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 12 pm to 4 pm.
