Nominations open for CY Aw Shucks Award

Connecting Youth (CY), a community based organization dedicated to creating a safe and healthy environment for young people, has been honoring community volunteers who generously give their time to help support youth and families in Charlotte, Hinesburg, St. George, Shelburne, and Williston for the past 17 years.  The Aw Shucks Awards Celebration is an opportunity to recognize friends, neighbors, employees, colleagues, coaches, businesses,and others who have consistently supported young people and helped to create safe, healthy communities.

Please take a moment to tell CY about the amazing volunteers you know in these communities.  This is an opportunity, and a CY privilege, to recognize the talent and commitment of neighbors and local businesses.

•A description of why this person should receive an Aw Shucks award.

Nominations will be accepted until Friday, Feb.15. All nominees must:

• Live or work, or in the case of a business, operate  in a CY community: Charlotte, Hinesburg, St. George, Shelburne or Williston.

•Have a record of success as a volunteer in helping young people and families.

• Have gone above and beyond in their efforts to help create a safe and healthy CY community.

The Aw Shucks Awards will be presented on the evening of April 8 at Champlain Valley Union High School.
