As part of their unit on Vermont, the Mater Christi School fourth graders took a field trip to Montpelier recently to visit the Vermont State House and the Vermont History Museum. During the tour, Governor Shumlin invited the group to a question/answer session and then “stamped” the students’ bill idea. Their teacher, Glenda Bedard, reported, “The students were thrilled and excited to meet the governor. They appreciated the time he spent with us and the fact that he called every child by his/her name. Many fourth graders told me that this was one of their best field trips ever!”
