Colm Donal Thompson, 60, of Marsett Road in Shelburne, died in Winooski on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013. He was born in Reading, England, on Dec. 20, 1952, the son of George and Eithne (Byrne) Thompson. Colm was a graduate of Cambridge University. He was happily married 25 years ago in The Unitarian Church in Montpelier to Trishia Dorsey. Colm had been a superintendent at the Winooski 1 Hydroelectric plant since 1993. Colm was respected, admired, and loved by his fellow colleagues. He was renowned in the field for his talent. Colm was an avid gardener and a passionate fiddle player who loved to read and spend quality time with his family. He had a way about him that encouraged solutions for everyone. It is a profound loss for us all that he is gone. Colm will always be loved. Colm is survived by his devoted wife, Trishia Thompson, and his three children, Ruth Thompson, Ciaran Thompson, and Krissy Thompson. An outdoor memorial service will be arranged at a later date. Arrangements are by the Cremation Society of Chittenden County, a division of the Ready family, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington.
