Former resident receives US Analyst of the Year Award

Ashley Couture Petrella received the Analyst of the Year Award from the Department of Homeland Security on Feb. 13 in Dallas, Texas. Presented annually to the U.S. analyst who has demonstrated Outstanding Support in Fraud Detection and National Security, Petrella has been working for the Department of Homeland Security in Philadelphia, Penn. for three years and has held her current analyst position for one year.
Nominated by her district director for this prestigious award, the process required that Petrella appear in front of a panel of colleagues from districts across the country.
A former resident of Shelburne who graduated from Shelburne Community School and Champlain Valley Union High School, Petrella received a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies with a Business and Language minor from the University of Vermont in 2009. She is currently enrolled at St. Joseph University in Philadelphia, Penn., where she is pursuing a Master’s degree.
Ashley is the daughter of Dan B. Couture and Marie-L Couture of Shelburne.
