On a Wednesday afternoon in the All Souls Sanctuary, Fran Stoddard moderated a rich conversation with composer Sam Guarnaccia of Shelburne and Artist/UVM faculty member Cami Davis of Charlotte in the first of a three-part series of conversations entitled “Awakening to Transformation: Through Art, Education & Spiritual Practice.”

Guarnaccia and Davis are part of a creative team developing the Emergent Universe Oratorio, a new choral and chamber orchestra composition to premier in the Shelburne Farms Breeding Barn on Sept. 15. With Davis’ lovely and large canvas titled “Tar sands Tong Lin” as a backdrop, they discussed the mystery and wonder that inspires painting and composition, and the potential of art to open the heart.

The third and final conversation on Wednesday, March 20 from 4 to 5 pm at All Souls will focus on the awakening power of spiritual practice with Rev. Mary Abele and Pastor Nancy Wright.

The series of conversations is a cooperative project of Shelburne Farms, Shelburne Museum, and All Souls. The program is free and the public is welcome to attend. All Souls is located at 291 Bostwick Farm Road. These provocative conversations are all being filmed by RETN for viewing on Channel 16 Cable Access.
