2nd Annual Fool’s Flop! Sunday, April 7 at 1 pm Why not jump in the lake for a good cause? Or in this case, we will “flop” in the lake at Shelburne Beach. We are excited about our plans to renovate the playground at Davis Park! However, to make this a reality, we still need to raise money to help offset the cost of this new natural playground. We hope that you and your family will get involved and help support this project! Register now through the Shelburne Parks and Recreation Office. Registration fee is $25 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. Teams are welcome as well! Participants are encouraged to get sponsors in order to raise more money. All sponsorship money must be turned in to Shelburne Parks and Recreation by Friday, April 12. Donations can also be made online using a credit card through All participants will be sent the website event link. A Pledge sheet is also available if you would like to use it for gathering pledges in person. All participants will receive an official Fool’s Flop t-shirt!

Financial Seminars for College Planning/Saving for College: April 3, 6:30-7:30pm, Shelburne Town Offices, Meeting Rm 2. Review different types of college savings vehicles and factors to consider in choosing the right plan(s) for your family. Seminar will target strategies particularly for families of middle school students. 23rd Annual Champlain Classic: Sunday, May 5. Shelburne Parks and Recreation is proud to host this exciting annual event featuring a 5K, 15K, and 1K Free Kids Road Race. T-shirts will be given to all pre-registered 15K and 5K runners, and will be available on a first come basis the day of the race. Kid’s t-shirts are available for $10 but must be pre-ordered by April 17. If you aren’t a runner, join the fun by volunteering! Volunteers are needed to help at water stations and along the trail! Intro to golf at Kwiniaska: A basic intro to the game of golf for beginning adults or long time players wishing to improve fundamentals. Instruction on all aspects of the long and short game including full swing, chipping, putting, pitching, bunker play, and etiquette of the game will be taught. Clubs will be provided if needed. We reserve the right to cancel/combine classes if needed.  This class will offer two sessions both running from 5-6 pm on Thursdays.  Session I will beMay 9-June 6 and Session II will beJune 13-July 18 (no class July 4). The cost is $90 and will be instructed by Mike Bailey, PGA Professional.

Junior Introduction to Golf: For grades 1-5.Join Mike Bailey, PGA Professional, to learn the fundamentals of a game that can be played for a lifetime. Instruction will be offered on putting, chipping, pitching, sand play, and the full swing. Proper golf etiquette and good sportsmanship will be strongly promoted.
