The VNA’s annual weekend family bereavement camp is open to adults and children who have experienced the death of a loved one.
By providing open support and guidance, this camp creates an opportunity for growth and healing for families who are experiencing the natural grieving process. Skilled counselors, professionals, and trained volunteers participate in this unique experience for families.
Campers participate in a variety of activities that may include arts and crafts, campfires, story times, a candlelight remembrance ceremony, and small group sessions to provide strategies for adults and children coping with grief.
The camp is presented by the Junior League of Champlain Valley and the VNA’s Hospice program. The 2013 Camp Knock Knock will be held May 31-June 2 at YMCA Camp Abnaki in North Hero. For more information about the camp, or to refer a family or to volunteer, contact Ally Parker, VNA Grief and Bereavement Coordinator and Camp Knock Knock director, at 658-1900 x3405 or email@example.com.
