Looking for inexpensive summer sports camp options for children in kindergarten through ninth grade? CVU has the answer. Registration is now open for one-week cheerleading, baseball, basketball, football, and soccer camps.
A National Cheerleaders Association Home Camp will be held for incoming freshman through seniors, both boys and girls, from June 21-23 from 9 am to 5 pm. Redhawks baseball camp, a repeat performance for camp director and CVU head baseball Tim Albertson, will host a one-week baseball camp for Little Leaguers ages 6-12 June 24-28. The baseball coaching staff will provide opportunities for each camper to learn and understand the game at the highest level. Baseball camp will be held from 8:30-11:30 am daily at a cost of $100 per participant.
Coaches Scott Bliss and Seth Emerson will offer a summer boys basketball camp for players in fourth through ninth grade July 22-July 26 from 9 am to noon at a cost of $125 by July 8 and $135 thereafter. Campers work on every facet of the game through drills, stations, contests, and games designed to improve individual development in an atmosphere where laughter, smiles, and enthusiasm are a top priority.
Summer girls basketball camp, directed by CVU head girls basketball coach Ute Otley, will host a one week camp June 24-28. Girls in grades 4-6 attend camp from 9 am-noon and those in grades 7-9 attend camp from 1-4 pm daily at a cost of $125 per participant before June 17 and $135 thereafter. The objective of the CVU basketball camp is to teach and develop the fundamentals of basketball as well as develop a love of the game.
In its fourth year, Redhawks football camp will be offered to those in third through ninth grade and will be held July 8-12 from 5:30-8 pm at a cost of $110 per participant. The non-contact football camp will be run by long-time head football coach Jim Provost, and former CVU standout and top running back JP Benoit. The focus of the camp will be teaching players the fundamentals of football in a fun and positive environment.
CVU soccer camp celebrates its 13th year this summer. The camp will be offered July 8-12 from 9 am-noon for players entering kindergarten through ninth grade for $120. “The camp is all about promoting soccer in the community,” according to Shelburne resident and camp director Stan Williams. “The most important aspect of the school is teaching a love for the game.”
