The Vermont Shamrocks defeated the Potsdam Ice Storm 4-1 to become the USA Hockey Tier II U-16 Girls Champions on Sunday evening, April 7 in San Jose, Calif. Twenty seconds into the first period Chelsea Ellis started the scoring off a pass from her sister Aliza Ellis. Although Potsdam tied things up in the second session within five minutes CVU’s Molly Dunphy put Vermont up 2-1, on a pass from Molly Burke. Rachel Morse also tallied and Burke and Jade Remillard picked up assists. The Ellis sisters rekindled their sisterly magic effort late in the third, as Chelsea scored her second goal and secured the 4-1 win.
