Allen Lee Walker died March 29, 2013, in Chatham, Mass., at the age of 92. Mr. Walker was a longtime employee of S.H. Kress and Company, beginning as a stock boy and retiring more than thirty years later as the company’s president. After retirement, he enjoyed drawing, painting, and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Walker was a veteran of World War II, during which he helped build the Alaska Highway. He was a resident of Dorset, Bennington, and Shelburne. He was predeceased by Dorothy Inge Walker, his wife of 55 years; and his brother, William. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Huntington and Amanda Walker, and son, James of DeKalb, Ill.; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
