League of Women Voters acknowledges dedication

The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Champlain Valley will recognize nine members of the organization at its Annual Dinner Meeting, Wednesday, May 8 at Wake Robin in Shelburne.

The following Shelburne women have given 50 years each of unselfish commitment and extreme dedication to the LWV and to their community: Natalie Albers, Claire Anderson, Janet Colter, Louise Ransom, Virginia Walters, and Sheryl Worrall.

The other 50 year league members are Rep. Betty Nuovo of Middlebury, Amy Bond of Essex Junction, and Clare Stahl of South Burlington.

Founded in 1920, LWV encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The league does not endorse candidates and is not affiliated with any political party.
