The Library has several special events coming up for your enjoyment as we all wait for Spring to finally arrive in Shelburne!
First, come hear Allan Strong, an Associate Professor in the Rubenstein School of Natural Resources at UVM talk about “Not Quite Endangered: Species of Special Concern in Vermont.” He will focus on four groups of birds who inhabit the wetlands, grasslands, and shrublands of the Champlain Valley. His presentation will be held on Tuesday, April 30 at 6:30 pm in Town Hall.
Next, the Pierson Library and Building Bright Futures have teamed up to dedicate a new picture book in honor of each baby born in Shelburne this year. Join us on Saturday, May at 10:30 am for a late breakfast and Story Time with Mary Catherine Jones. Find out which book was dedicated in your little one’s name. Please RSVP by Friday, May 3 to firstname.lastname@example.org. Like all our other programs, this one is free.
Before hiking season begins in earnest, find out some important information about how you can avoid contracting Lyme Disease. Join Dr. Steve Riley, an expert in preventing, identifying, and treating Lyme Disease on Tuesday, May 7at 6:30 pm in Town Hall. Dr. Riley will introduce the film “Under Our Skin” and then answer any questions you might have.
Blu-Ray is coming to the Pierson Library! We are developing a new collection of Blu-Ray titles that will soon be made available to our patrons. If you have any old Blu-Rays that you would like to donate, please drop them off at the library next time you visit.
