LWVCV hosts health care expert Anya Rader May 8

The League of Women Voters of Champlain Valley (LWVCV) will welcome Anya Rader Wallack to speak at the annual dinner meeting, May 8, at Wake Robin in Shelburne. She will talk about the redesign of the Vermont health system.
Anya Rader Wallack is the chairwoman of the Green Mountain Care Board and has worked in health care policy and reform for the past two decades. She became Gov. Shumlin’s Special Assistant for Health Reform in January 2011 and was the chief architect of Act 48. Anya has served in the past with Gov. Dean, focused on heath reform, and she served with Hillary Clinton’s Health Reform Task Force.
Wallack is a native Vermonter and a UVM graduate. She received her Ph.D. in Social Policy from Brandeis University.
The LWVCV has studied health care reform in Vermont for several years and in 2006, wrote their health care position statement.
Anya plans to be at Wake Robin for the event from 6:30-7:30 pm with special member acknowledgments to follow. The scheduled annual business meeting will take place at 8 pm.
