Shelburne Vineyard spring “First Thursdays” begin May 2

Mark your calendars now! Shelburne Vineyard has just announced the line-up for their spring 2013 First Thursdays Music in the Loft Series. With the coming of spring, the performances will move out into the Vineyard when weather permits. This early evening concert series, highlighting everything local, from the artists, to the refreshments to the non-profit recipients that receive a share of the wine sales, has become a First Thursday of the Month institution at Shelburne Vineyard. The concerts are from 5:30-8 pm.  Admission is free and all are welcome.

The Spring Series will begin on Thursday, May 2, with a performance by Jen Crowell. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the SEABA. Singer-songwriter Crowell is a mellow presence for an early spring evening with her warm alto delivery and original lyrics.

Thursday, June 6 will bring Hard Scrabble, with lead singer, Alex Gero and her fellow band members playing their blend of bluegrass, blues, and acoustic covers. Proceeds of this concert benefit COTS.

Folk By Association heads the bill on July 4. Their eclectic repertoire of folk, roots, and world music is the perfect vehicle for their vocal harmonies and the many acoustic instruments they bring to their performance. This concert benefits the Shelburne Dog Park.

The final summer concert brings back series regular, Mike Colbourn. Mike will serenade the crowd with his original and classic alt-country favorites. Proceeds benefit the 52 Kids Foundation.

Each concert will feature a local eatery selling their specialties, beginning on May 2 with flatbreads by neighboring Folino’s. So, pack a blanket or a lawn chair, bring the family, and come on over hungry and thirsty for a celebration of spring with Shelburne Vineyard.

Shelburne Vineyard is located at 6308 Shelburne Road, Shelburne, Vt. 05482. For more information visit www.shelburnevineyard.com or “like” Shelburne Vineyard on Facebook.
