Rubin Bennet Goldberg of Shelburne was among 24 University of Vermont (UVM) students initiated into the Alpha Alpha Psi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honor society, at an induction ceremony held in April.
Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society, established in 1921, whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication, and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.The University of Vermont chapter, Alpha Alpha Psi, was chartered in 1982. Undergraduate students who have completed at least fifteen credit hours in history courses at UVM with a 3.5 grade point average and an overall grade point average of 3.4 are eligible for membership. History M.A. students are required to maintain a 3.67 grade point average in their graduate studies.
