Waldorf School celebrates annual Mayfest

Blue skies and sunshine lit up the day on Saturday, making the Lake Champlain Waldorf School’s Early Childhood Mayfest a glorious event. Over 170 families from all over Chittenden County congregated for a joyous day of maypole dancing, face painting, pony rides, delicious organic food, and live music. “Mayfest is a special day for families because the event is designed specifically for the young child” says Admissions Director Pam Graham, “Our children are growing up in a world with so many “soundbite” distractions. It is a joy to see children lose themselves in fun, like grinding corn, planting seeds, or making willow crowns.” Families enjoyed the Mayfest activities as well as the Lake Champlain Waldorf School’s forest, fields, playgrounds, gardens, and animals including rabbits, chickens, and sheep.
