Representatives from the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) and the consulting firm Stantec presented possible traffic solutions to the US 7/Falls Road/Harbor Road intersection to a packed house of residents, stakeholders, and representatives from the town of Shelburne and Vermont Agency of Transportation last month. Stantec conducted a scoping study that addressed ways to resolve transportation issues and presented a number of those alternatives to those in attendance at the meeting on April 16; the scoping study is only designed to address traffic improvements to the intersection, not to evaluate its historical significance, effect on businesses, or the desires of its residents.
Feedback from the first meeting was evaluated and incorporated into the three updated “alternatives” for improving the US 7/Falls Road/Harbor Road intersection that will be re-presented on Monday, May 13 at 6 pm in Meeting Room l of the Shelburne town offices. During the two-hour meeting, the consultants will also present portions of the draft report they are preparing as part of their examination of the intersection and will take comments from residents and stakeholders.
Updated versions of the strategies for improving the intersection also can be found at www.shelburnevt.org.
