Charlene “Tootie” Mae (Champney) Hayford died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 25, 2013, after a brief illness. She was born May 9, 1945, the eldest daughter of the late Cleveland and Lorraine Champney. She was a meticulous housekeeper along with being a wonderful cook and baker, always feeding anyone that stopped by; the one thing she always had plenty of was food. She worked for 34 years at Fletcher Allen Health Care, before retiring in 2001. Among her survivors is a daughter, Tracy Fisher and husband, Ricky, of Shelburne, a grandson, Ricky Fisher, and great-granddaughter, Kelcie of Shelburne. A funeral will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at 10 am at the Federated Church in Williston.
