Fathers, sons, daughters, and someday want-to-be fathers, join popular Saint Michael’s College professor Dr. Dave Landers at Shelburne’s Writers’ Barn on Friday evening, June 14, from 6:30-8 pm for a lively and thought-provoking discussion in anticipation of Father’s Day. “Dr. Dave” leads a conversation contemplating the powerful, poignant, and profound ways fathers influence our defining views of a man. Landers is a professor of gender studies at Saint Michael’s College and teaches the standing-room-only class “Men and Masculinities” in which he asks all students to write an essay describing the multitudinous ways their fathers have influenced their defining views of a man. Landers will read excerpts of his own and student essays from his forthcoming book published by Wind Ridge Books of Vermont, “I Wish He’d Taught Me How to Shave.” How did your father influence your view of men? Listen in or join the discussion at the Writers’ Barn in Shelburne, Friday evening June 14 at 6:30 pm. Space is limited, please rsvp to assure a seat: email@example.com, or 985-3091.
